Explanation of actual measurement: In order to understand the situation of adding sludge to wastewater and the speed of sludge settling when two chemicals are added to wastewater. The two agents were put into 250 mL of water respectively. Under fixed reaction time and pH value, the two sets of results on the left and right of the figure below were obtained. In terms of the height of the sludge layer, the height of the sludge layer after adding a dose of powder flocculant (left) is only four to one-fifth of that of polyaluminum chloride (right). Due to the small volume and high density of the sludge formed by the one-dose powder flocculant, the settling speed is significantly greater than that of polybasic aluminum chloride.
